Albo pothos, alternatively named Epipremnum pinnatum albo or variegated pothos, showcases heart-shaped leaves adorned with a distinctive green and white variegated pattern. Initially narrow and oval-shaped during their youth, the leaves undergo an expansion and fenestration process as the plant matures, eventually developing charming holes as the plant continues to age.
Scientific Name: Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Albo-Variegata’
Care Instructions
Light: The Albo Pothos thrives in moderate to bright indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can lead to scorching of the leaves. It can also tolerate low light conditions.
Watering: Allow the top inch or two of the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's essential to ensure the plant is not sitting in water. Check the soil moisture with your finger and water thoroughly when the topsoil feels dry to the touch.
Humidity: Pothos plants appreciate higher humidity levels, but they can adapt to average indoor humidity.
Temperature: Pothos prefers temperatures between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations.
Soil: Use well-draining, lightweight potting soil to ensure proper water drainage. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite is suitable for the Albo Pothos.
Fertilizer: Feed your Golden Pothos with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilizing in the winter months when the plant's growth slows down.
