The Arrowhead Plant, also known as Syngonium podophyllum, boasts striking arrow-shaped leaves, with delightful color variations ranging from rich emerald greens to enchanting silvers and pinks. As a low-maintenance plant, the Arrowhead thrives in both natural and artificial light, making it an ideal choice for busy plant lovers.
Care Instructions
Light: Place your Arrowhead Plant in bright, indirect light. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as this may lead to sunburn on the leaves. If you notice the colors fading on the leaves, it might be an indication of too much light.
Watering: Allow the top inch (2.5 cm) of the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's essential not to keep the soil constantly soggy.
Temperature: The Arrowhead Plant prefers a warm and humid environment. Keep it away from cold drafts and extreme temperature fluctuations. Ideally, maintain a temperature range of 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C) to promote healthy growth.
Humidity: Arrowhead Plants love humidity. Regularly mist the leaves with water to increase humidity levels. Alternatively, place a tray filled with water and pebbles near the plant, ensuring the water level remains below the pebbles to prevent root rot.
Soil: Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix to provide adequate drainage for the plant's roots.
Fertilizer: Feed your Arrowhead Plant with a balanced, water-soluble houseplant fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). In winter, you can reduce or stop fertilizing since the plant's growth slows down during this time.
Pet Information: Toxic to Pets if ingested. Keep out of reach.
